Update (I’m Back!) and Discworld Month 6 (Better Late than Never…?)

Happy Holidays, everyone! I’m back from my unannounced hiatus! Incidentally, I’m a broken record.

November and December are generally not great months for me (one of the million things they don’t tell you as a kid is how the holidays can go from the Most Wonderful Time of the Year to Time of Dread as you grow older), and this time was no exception. And then some. Bad mental health stuff and hospitals, basically.

I’m probably turning into one of those characters in SFF series who spend half of their screen/page time waking up in hospital beds and being like, “Hey doc, nice to see you again” and “We should really stop meeting like this.” Well, minus a cool sword and a world to save.

As for Discworld, we’re now six months into the Discworld Readathon started by me and Nicole (the Bookworm Drinketh).

This month’s book is (was?) Wyrd Sisters and if this is the first time you’re hearing about it, you have two whole days to get to it. Pfft that’s totally feasible, right? :DD

Wyrd Sisters

Arbitrary deadlines aside, if you want to join now then go for it. Leave me a comment, enjoy Sir Terry’s brilliant imagination, and post your review whenever.

And a thousand apologies to Nicole and the other participating bloggers for the radio silence. I’ll definitely try to get to the book by the end of next week.

I also have a backlog of posts I need to publish, a collab project that I’m super excited to unveil (hopefully sometime in January), and need to figure out how I’m supposed to write reviews for books I read over a month ago. So look out for those!

Do tell me how your month has been, what interesting books you’ve picked up, etc, etc. Happy reading!

Welcome back! I hope you’re doing better. I definitely plan on doing Wyrd Sisters- already read it. I think this is the best one so far actually 🙂 Just need to get my butt actually writing a post. Looking forward to reading everyone’s thoughts on it. Let me know if you need anything!

Welcome back! Hope you are feeling better ❤
From mid november to christmas is really nothing magical or wonderful for me either, so i can relate. Sort of, i guess.
Hope the new year will bring you some peace & happiness.

Happy to hear you are back! Holiday season can be pretty garbage-y. Yay for Pratchett!

As far as recently books, I recently picked up an older Tim Powers title to prep for #VintageSciFiMonth, The Drawing of the Dark. it’s fantastic, and I’m already 3/4 of the way through it.

I’m so happy you are back Kathy, I’ve missed you. And I’m so glad you are feeling better, this time of the year can be rough and I’m sorry you went through such rough times. If you ever want to chat, I’m here. ❤️ And if there’s anyway I could help with, please drop me a note. 💕

December was a crazy month but I’m now focused on the new year. So many possibilities and lots of hope ahead. May 2019 bring us both lots of joy and peace. Thinking of you! ❤️

I think whatever is the best for you Kathy is always the way forward. If silencing out the online world helps, then that’s what matters the most. ❤️

        Hear hear to 2019! 💕

Welcome back! Glad to see you feeling well enough to post. I totally empathize with you here. It’s the changing seasons which always gets me this time of year and makes my own mental health issues act up and I’ve pretty much been reading non stop and barely keeping up with blog posts (somehow eeking them out the day of or the night before). I’m so behind on reviews! But anyway, glad to see you are feeling better! Hope you continue to feel better and that 2019 is a great year for you!

Thank you, Lisa! It totally doesn’t help that it’s been raining pretty much non-stop here for the past month.

And you’re an absolute trooper. I don’t know how you read so much per month and still consistently put out quality posts.

I’ll be furiously blog hopping these next two weeks and I’m so looking forward to seeing how your Nano and your December went. 😀 Happy New Year! ❤

Yes, the rain totally does it to me too! One of my coworkers let me use their light therapy lamp at work and that does help a bit but there’s nothing like good old fashioned sunshine. Hope the rain lets up soon.

Thanks! Don’t know if it’s being a trooper so much as fearing to fail at yet another thing in life due to my stupid depression. :/

My nano went terribly but December was pretty good reading-wise at least. Happy New Year! Let’s all start fresh!

Don’t worry about it in the slightest – everybody needs time away and it sounds like you had more than enough on your mind without worrying about a blog or a readathon! And it’s become tradition now, right, to post reviews for the Discworld book or wrap ups in general somewhere halfway through the next month? 🙂 It would be such a shame to break our streak!

Don’t worry about the radio silence! I’ve been pretty silent as of late, myself. Lots of work stuff and a horrible lung infection kept me off the web for the passed few weeks. But, it’s a new year so time to get back to it!! 😅😊
